Alex [Julian Sands] is a vampire but he drinks only the blood of animals. Anne Baker [Suzanna Hamilton] has just suffered the death of her boyfriend. Anne and Alex have never crossed each other paths until a mysterious man in a hat gets Anne a job at the Library where Alex comes each evening to read aged documents in search of information about a 19th century woman named Virginia Clemm. There is a resemblence between Anne and Virginia which Alex cannot help noticing, and the two become friends. The day after Alex "kisses" Anne for the first time, the mysterious stranger appears to warn her that Alex's "love bite" is actually the bite of a vampire. Anne goes to Alex's house, intending to kill him while he sleeps, but instead she asks him to make her a vampire. Alex refuses. Anne disappears. Alex finds her lying on his bed, dead, wrapped in red ribbon, a thank-you present for Alex's "undying love". From the shadows springs the mysterious man. He impales Alex with a sword and finally identifies himself as Edgar Clemm [Kenneth Cranham], the husband of Virginia. Edgar is also a vampire, and he is the one responsible for Anne's death (among others). In addition, he reveals to Alex that he has imprisoned Virginia in a lead box under the North Sea, there to suffer alone the vampire "undeath" until the end of time. This is to be her punishment for betraying him. As Edgar bends to kiss Anne, Alex impales him with a pole and tosses his body into the river below. Henriette [Issabelle Teboul] and Louise Alexandra Pic] are blind orphans. They live at The Glycines Orphanage where they are among Sister Martha's [Natalie Perrey] favorites. She calls them her "angels", but angels they are not. In fact, they're vampires. They are blinded by daylight, but when the sun goes down, they see perfectly, albeit in blue [shot through blue filters]. During the night, while everyone sleeps, they slip out of the orphanage and go to their "true home"--the cemetery--looking for blood. At times, they sit amongst the graves and talk about their travels, the interesting creatures they have met (like the she-wolf and the ghoul), their previous lives, and where they might have come from. They have reincarnated so many times that the memories are dim. They like to think of themselves as blood-drinking goddesses for whom the Aztecs performed human sacrifices.When Sister Martha's dream--that Henriette and Louise would be adopted by the famous opthalmologist, Dr Dennery [Bernard Charnacé]--comes true, they go to live with their new father in his big house in Paris. Everyone thinks the blind girls are so sweet and pure, but when the night comes and their vision returns, they continue to slip out to find victims and play in the little cemetery near their house. Then one afternoon, Dr Dennery announces that he must attend a conference and will be gone overnight. He makes them promise that they won't leave the house but, as soon as he is gone, they head for the Metro and go to visit a BIG cemetery [looks like Montmartre cemetery to me]. When evening comes on and their sight returns, they hop and skip around. Unfortunately, they are seen by an elderly couple who had seen them earlier as they made their way around with canes. "They're creatures from hell!" exclaims the woman, and the man runs after them with a stick but they elude him. A bit later, the man sees them drinking blood from a young girl's neck and chases them again. They hide in a crypt where they meet a bat woman who gives them refuge for the night in her own coffin.
The next morning, Henriette and Louise return home. On the way, they feel thirsty so they slake their thirst on each other. Then they stop at a liquor store to buy some brandy to clean their necks. By the time they get home, they're both roaring drunk, so drunk they don't make it into the house before the doctor returns. After parking his car, he finds the empty liquor bottle, sees movement in the bushes, and fires off a gunshot, hitting Louise. While the doctor searches the grounds, Henriette gets Louise upstairs and under the bedcovers. After the doctor has checked on them and gone to bed himself, Henriette tells Louise a story about Aztec sacrifices while Louise drinks some of Henriette's blood to strengthen her.
The girls begin to fear that the doctor will kill them if he finds out the truth. So, they plot to kill him first, but they can't come up with a good plan. Just as they are reading a book about crimes, the doctor walks in. They make up a story about how their vision has started to return and how they were waiting to tell him about it on his birthday next weekend. He wants to examine their eyes, but first he's going to make some breakfast. While they eat, Henriette goes to the cupboard, takes out a knife, and stabs the doctor in the back. When he is dead, they gather their things, set the house on fire, and leave.
But where to go? Back to the orphanage, of course. They slip into their old room and put on nightclothes. After Sister Martha has made her rounds, they enter the room of poor, sick Virginia. They decide not to drink the blood of a sick girl and, instead, sneak outside to join two other girls who have snuck out to smoke a cigarette. When Sister Martha finds the canes of her two "angels" in their old bedroom and smells cigarettes, she goes to investigate and finds Henriette and Louise, their mouths all bloodied, and the two other orphans with bites on their necks.
Henriette and Louise run from the orphanage and hide in a barn. When Nicole comes to milk the cows, they befriend her, tell her who they really are, and bemoan the fact that people will be after them. They must return to their cemetery. Nicole says that she knows a shortcut and will guide them there as it is almost daylight. Unfortunately, they are seen by the old man and woman from the big cemetery. The old man recognizes them, grabs his gun, and shoots Henriette. Henriette is dying. She asks Louise to find a hole to hide in. They wade out into a marsh. Prologue: For many centuries, phi song neng (vampire spirits who have vowed never to drink human blood) have lived among the villages of the Far East. One day, over 800 years ago, a young, human warlord named Niran fell in love with a beautiful song neng woman named Sang. Niran wanted Sang for his own, so he killed her husband and son. In her pain and rage, Sang attacked Niran during a Songkran []New Year] solar eclipse, turning him into a vampire. From Niran have come many jai tham (vampires who drink human blood and kill humans for pleasure). Only Sang can end the jai tham's nightly attacks on humans. Doing so, however, will end the entire bloodline and turn every vampire, song neng as well as jai tham, into mere mortals again. Since the coming Songkran festival will feature the first solar eclipse in 800 years, Sang intends to kill herself by exposing herself to the sun's rays at the end of the eclipse and, thus, wipe out all the vampires in Thailand.Connor [Colin Egglesfield] and Amanda [Meredith Monroe] are vacationing in Thailand during this year's Songkran festival. Connor, trained since childhood in Muay Thai (Thai boxing), takes Amanda to see a match. However, Amanda cannot take the brutality and goes back to their hotel alone. On the way, she gets lost in the Phang Nga market, and Mr Nice Guy [Dom Hetrakul] offers to show her the way to her hotel. He leads her on a short cut down a deserted alley, then suddenly turns into the vampire Niran, drinking her blood and carrying her off on a motorcycle. Connor tries to follow, but he is stopped by another vampire, obviously intent on killing him. Just as the vampire is about to succeed, a bald-headed man appears and chops off the vampire's head. Connor begs for his help finding Amanda, but he warns Connor to leave Thailand immediately and threatens to kill Connor if he follows him. Of course, Connor steathfully (i.e., ten steps behind) follows Kiko [Roger Yuan] home to Kong Sai House.
When the police refuse to consider Amanda missing until 48 hours have passed, Connor goes back to Kong Sai House, only to find everyone asleep. While snooping through the house, Connor is attacked by a female vampire [Stephanie Chao] (who turns out to be Sang, but Connor doesn't know that yet). Connor gets away from her by jumping out a window. As Connor lands on the ground below, he is stopped by vampire slayer Raines [Patrick Bauchau] who insists on testing Connor's blood to see if he is infected. When Connor comes up clean, he begs Raines to help him find Amanda but, like Kiko, Raines warns him to leave Thailand. Amanda is as good as dead, he says. If she resists, the jai tham will bleed her dry; if not, they'll turn her, and then Raines will slay her (he gets $10,000 for every vampire he kills). Either way, Amanda should be considered dead to Connor.
Connor won't accept it and returns again to Kong Sai House. While there, he sees a photo of Niran in front of the Techno Games Arcade near the Phang Nga market. Figuring that Niran might have taken Amanda there, he snoops around. He finds Amanda being held in a cell with skeletons, carcasses, and other humans in various stages of being drained of their blood. Basically, he's stumbled into the jai tham's pantry. Amanda and Connor escape but are attacked outside by two jai tham on a motorcycle. One drives off with Amanda; the other stays to kill Connor. Just as Niran and the rest of the jai tham arrive to join the fun, Sang appears. Connor grabs a motorcycle and, with Sang riding behind him, they succeed in outrunning the jai tham.
Both Amanda and Connor are now faced with decisions. Amanda must decide whether to allow Niran to turn her or to keep on drinking from her, which causes acute pain. Connor has to decide whether or not to join the song neng in hopes of winning the battle with the jai tham and helping Sang to kill herself so that all vampires (including him) will be turned back into mortals. The alternative, if Sang is not successful, is that Connor will remain a vampire until the next Songkran eclipse rolls around in 800 years and Sang can try again. Connor's decision is made doubly hard because he's got the hots for Sang. Amanda decides to continue resisting, and Connor decides to become song neng. This requires being bitten by Sang and, apparently, having sex with her, too.
The day of the eclipse is upon them. The song neng have made a deal with the slayers. Since Sang's embrace of the sun must take place in the same spot where the curse began 800 years ago (a couple blocks away), the song neng have made a deal with Raines. Raines and his slayers will line the buildings and walls that overlook the site, which looks like an archeological dig, in order to kill any jai tham who try to stop Sang. Connor, Kiko, and the rest of the song neng will help Sang get to the required spot. The eclipse starts at 3:00, and they will have 17 minutes to do the job. All is set.
Suddenly, the sun is covered and the city falls dark. The slayers are in position. Connor and the song neng move out from under the trees. The jai tham arrive on their motorcycles. In the melee that follows, Connor and Niran fall through a weak spot into a pit where they continue fighting. Time is running out, and Kiko realizes that the slayers have double-crossed them. Suddenly, the slayers open fire, shooting everyone, song neng and jai tham. Only Connor and Niran remain protected in their hole. Connor manages to impale Niran, but when he surfaces from the pit, Connor finds only bodies. He shouts for Sang, but there is no answer. Raines walks up, gloating over how much he will get for all the vampire heads AND those in the future. If Sang ends the curse, he explains, there's no more vampires, and we're in the vampire hunting business.
Connor locates Sang as Raines turns his crossbow on her. Connor offers to shoot Sang so that she doesn't have to suffer. Raines hands his bow to Connor. Connor aims at Sang but suddenly swings his aim to Raines. Forcing Raines to carry Sang to the designated spot, Connor gives her one last kiss before the sun reappears and Sang is toast. She explodes, taking Raines with her. Connor hurries back to the jai tham's pantry and rescues Amanda.
Epilog: Connor and Amanda are on an airplane flying back to the States. Amanda looks out the window, and her eyes appear to be totally black. Is she or isn't she? [Original synopsis by bj_kuehl]

1885 Transylvania(?): Abraham Van Helsing [Rhett Giles] eaves his wife in the care of Monk Sebastien [Andreas Beckett] while he and his slayers penetrate the lair of Count Vladimir Dracula. Although Van Helsing successfully destroys Dracula, the cost is great. The monk Sebastien is actually a vampire prince, and while Van Helsing is out killing vampires, Sebastien turns Van Helsing's wife into one.Present day Los Angeles: Dr Abraham Van Helsing, slayer of vampires, is laying low, working as a hematologist at University Hospital after just moving there from Paris. Vampires have been lying low, too, drinking the cold blood of dead animals, not hunting humans, basically starving themselves all on account of their fear of Van Helsing. Roman [Jared Cohn] can't take it anymore. He gets a job at University Hospital as an orderly and steals three pints of blood from the blood bank. When Arianna [Denise Boutte], chief vampire bitch, sees the name on the label -- Dr Abraham Van Helsing -- she begins to shiver in her black, high-heeled, lace-up boots and runs straight to Sebastien (after taking a few swigs of the blood herself). She offers the blood to Sebastien, who has disintegrated into a withered, sniffling, lustless ragtag lying on a couch and talking in word salad. Arianna forces a sip of the human blood down his throat and, after that one sip, Sebastien knows what he must do -- unite all the vampires, feed again on humans, show them who's boss, and kill Van Helsing. However, killing Van Helsing isn't going to be easy. After being forced to destroy his own wife, Van Helsing turned to the Knights Templar and made a deal with God. Until he kills the last vampire prince, Van Helsing will walk the earth as an immortal. The only stipulation is that, should he ever drink vampire blood, he will be turned and forever damned.
The first thing Sebastien does, now that he's found purpose again, is to drink the blood of a prostitute, banging his chest after the first few swigs and roaring like King Kong. The next thing he does is change into black leather pants and a new goth shirt and hold a pep rally, inspiring the vampires to come out from the derelict, stinking, moldering buildings in which they are hiding and rise again as hunters of human blood. As luck would have it, the prostitute shows up at University Hospital, practically drained of blood. She is given eight units of blood, but she's not getting any better. When nurse Emily [Brent Falco] tells Van Helsing about the patient, he runs to her room to take a look. Right away, Van Helsing knows that she is changing into a vampire. When no one is looking, Van Helsing sprinkles her with holy water, smothers her with a pillow, drives a stake through her chest, and cuts out her heart with a cast saw.
Van Helsing concludes that the vampires are hunting humans again and that it is time for him to come out of hiding and put together a team of slayers. So, Van Helsing consults Father Cefalu [Anthony Turk], who agrees to find some young, able-bodied, seminary students for him to train. The next morning, Van Helsing meets seven recruits and gives them a pep talk on the art of vampire slaying. As Van Helsing educates the recruits in the way of the vampire, nurse Emily shows up. She explains that she works with the homeless at the parish and that Father Cefalu asked her to come. Suddenly a call comes in. The detective brother of one of the recruits calls to tell him about a body that was just found. It was drained of blood and its heart was cut out. Van Helsing, Dominic [James Ashby], and another recruit head over to the crime scene and begin their first vampire hunt. They look through a nearby abandoned building and, sure enough, there's a coffin with a vampire in it. Van Helsing tops the coffin with a branch of wild rose and begins firing bullets into the coffin. On his 11th shot, the group is suddenly set upon by a second vampire, and the fun begins.
Meanwhile, Roman has learned that nurse Emily is Van Helsing's girlfriend, so he and Arianna wait in the hall for Emily to show up. When Emily appears, Arianna has Roman bite her in the neck, then she falls into Emily's arms begging for help. Emily takes Arianna, not to the emergency room, but to the church where the slayers are training, also not noticing that they're being followed by a slug of vampires. Suddenly, the vampires crash the church and start beating up the slayers. When Van Helsing shows up holding a cross, all the vampires disappear, taking Emily with them. Unfortunately for Roman, he gets left behind [Roman is a bit retarded]. Van Helsing forces Roman to reveal that the vampires have taken Emily to.an abandoned warehouse where Sebastien is toying with her, waiting for Van Helsing to show up. When Sebastien leaves Emily in the care of another vampire, Emily loosens the bonds around her wrists and suddenly springs forward, crucifix in hand. The vampire backs away, and Emily then drinks a bottle of blessed Evian. Meanwhile, Sebastien is rallying his vampires again. "We are vampires! Yeah! We are hunters! Yeah!" While the vampires cheer for themselves, Van Helsing and his slayers are sneaking up on them. Suddenly they burst into the warehouse, and it's every vampire and slayer for himself. Van Helsing goes looking for Sebastian and Emily.
Now comes the big showdown. Sebastien has changed into a bolero jacket with red tails and cumberband. He and Van Helsing circle each other, making small talk about the past. Off comes the Bolero jacket, revealing a white, gauzy, long-sleeved shirt open to his waist. Van Helsing charges with stakes in hand, but, even after all those years of living on cold rat blood, Sebastien is definitely the better fighter. Van Helsing winds up on the ground with Sebastien's foot on his stomach. Suddenly, Arianna takes this time to confront Sebastien with his womanizing and let him know how much it hurts her. After reminding Arianna who is the master, Sebastien slakes his thirst on Emily. He's feeling pretty good about himself until he suddenly gets a tummyache and realizes that Emily's blood contains holy Evian. Sebastien pounces on Van Helsing anyway, but Van Helsing is able to run a stake through Sebastien's heart. He then garrots Sebastian's head off his shoulders. Arianna gets stabbed in the stomach but manages to get away.
Now that Van Helsing has killed the last vampire prince, he prepares to die, just as the deal was laid out. When it doesn't happen, he is puzzled. Does it mean that God has rewarded him with the ability to live out the rest of his life or does it mean that there is another vampire prince(ss) out there? [Original synopsis by bj_kuehl]

When Officer Derek Washington [Ron Hall], LAPD special division, meets up with a vampire and makes the mistake of putting that fact into his report, he is placed on administrative lead and told to take a long vacation. However, Derek was right. Gustoff Slovak [Mel Novak] is, indeed, a vampire. Once a vampire hunter, Slovak made the mistake of tasting a vampire's blood, which turned him into the very thing he hunted. Derek is on a mission to destroy Slovak.Fortunately, Derek has Samantha Morris [Merry Everest], editor of an Internet magazine that "explores the news most media shy away from" on his side. When Derek is about to be carved up by two of Slovak's vampires, it is Samantha who breaks in and sets him loose, and it is Samantha who introduces him to Master Kao [Gerald Okamura], vampire hunter and master of the martial arts. It is Kao who helps Derek hone his fighting skills.
When Derek tries to confront Slovak, the police are called, and Derek ends up being taken down to headquarters. Derek tries to convince Captain Hall [Eric Von Kritlow] that Slovak is a vampire, but Hall doesn't believe him. Hall should have listened. When he orders Derek to apologize to Slovak, Derek kicks Slovak in the balls. Slovak changes into a vampire and bites everyone in the room. He then corners Derek in a dark room and bites him, too.
Derek is turning into a vampire, but not totally...yet. He storms Slovak's house again, killing a bunch of vampires. Some other vampire hunters show up. Their vampirometer shows that Derek is at 70% vampire, so they try to destroy him, but Derek kills them first. Some big vampire wearing tattered clothes and yelling "Argh!" attacks Derek, but Derek bests him, too.
Meanwhile, Kao is fighting vampires that have invaded the house looking for Cassandra. Turns out that Kao was trained as a vampire hunter by Slovak himself, but Kao chose not to follow Slovak when he went vampire. Slovak bites Kao. Derek comes home to find Kao injured, and Kao begs Derek to destroy him. Derek stabs Kao then burns his body.
The last half hour of the movie has Derek fighting just about everyone else in the movie -- vampires, vampire hunters, friends, relatives, and police, until Slovak shows up with Cassandra and hitches her to some sort of machine. When there is no one left except Slovak and Derek, they have at each other. Slovak stabs Derek, which causes Derek to sprout his vampire teeth. Derek rips open the curtains, letting the sun stream in. Slovak slumps, and Derek finishes him off. Derek carries Cassandra out and tells her to let the world know that vampires are very real, then he goes off into the nowhere, calling himself the "first vampire assassin."

Synopsis Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (2000)
The story takes place 12000 years in the distant future, a future where nuclear war took place, and from the ashes of the Earths remains vampires emerged as a dominant race. Taking the title of Nobles, they enslaved the remnants of humanity and ruled over them with the aid of special magical technology and a race of inhuman creatures. But over time, they slipped into decadence and decau and humanity won their freedom.The film begins with a young maiden, Charlotte Elbourne, being abducted by the Noble Meier Link. Her family calls upon two famous bounty hunters to get her back (preferably alive, but dead if shes been changed into a vampire). One is the Marcus Brothers, the most brutal family of bounty hunters. The other is D, a dhampir (a half-human half-vampire being) who has taken to hunting vampires, who keeps a magical talking parasite in his left hand and bears a stoic demeanor.
D meets the Marcus Brothers: the brutal leader Borgoff, the knife-wielding Kyle, the hulking hammer-swinger Nolt, the psychic Grove (though his abilities have left him mortally weak) and their adopted stepsister Leila. While the Marcuses have a head start, Ds Left Hand is able to magically track down Meier to a resting house (however, Borgoff schemes to let D do all the work and get the girl from him afterwards). Meiers carriage sets off with Charlotte inside; D fights Meier but halts when Charlotte calls out to Meier. Leila appears close behind but is injured in the fight; D tends to her wound, and in disgust she snarls at him.
Meiers carriage is tracked to the Barbarois, a community of monstrous beings that have served vampires since time immemorial. D enters, and discovers that three guardians have been paid to guard Meier: a shadow-being called Benge, a werewolf named Mashira and a woman named Charlotte who can use her hair like tentacles and absorb elements. Benge uses his ability to surreptitiously kill Nolt, but he manages to warn his brothers before dying; consequently Grove uses his psyche to enter Barbarois and annihilate as many Barbarois as possible. Meiers carriage leaves Barbarois and a pursuing D strikes down Groves spirit, but Benge uses his power to temporarily trap D inside a shadow.
The Marcus brothers take off after the carriage, but soon their tank is incapacitated by Caroline. Benge stays behind to deal with them, but thanks to Nolts final warning they are able to kill him. But they still need to get fuel for their tank, so Kyle and Leila head to a nearby town. They find D is also in town, so Leila turns the townsfolk against him to get him out of their hair. But one of them unexpectedly stands up with a gun to defend D, saying D saved his life as a child and hes returning the favour.
At a stop, Charlotte steps out to enjoy the sunlight. D meets her and questions her. He learns that shes in love with Meier, and that shed rather die than return home. This revelation disgusts and enrages Leila, who swiftly captures her; however Mashira and Caroline were keeping watch nearby, and attack. Mashira gets Charlotte away, while Caroline engages D and Leila. D manages to stop Caroline temporarily before he is overcome by heat syndrome (as a half-human half-vampire he can endure the sunlight, but every now and then it gets too strong and he must bury himself for a time). Leila helps him bury himself in return for having assisted her, but has to deal with a regenerated Caroline. Fortunately a storm begins, and a lightning bolt strikes Caroline and electrocutes her, ending her permanently.
During the storm, Leila has to seek shelter in the same place as D. Although she is harsh towards him, the rain eventually softens her. She shares a bit of her past: her father was killed trying to rescue her mother from being abducted by a vampire, who was turned (and later stoned to death by members of her own village). Filled with rage towards all vampires, she joined the Marcus Brothers to kill them all; shes resigned to this as the only life she will ever have. D, as a dhampir, is a kindhearted soul who is resigned to never having a normal humans life; but he reminds Leila that his fate is sealed, unlike hers. They both make a pact, that whichever of them dies first will have the other put flowers on their grave. As the rain stops, they go back to business rivalry and take off on their separate ways.
Borgoff and Kyle work out that Meier is headed for the Castle of Chaythe, a fearsome place avoided by humans and vampires alike. However, to get there the carriage has to cross a bridge, which is where they set up an ambush: they place bombs under the bridge and with this force the carriage to a stop. Mashira seemingly bails out, leaving Meier and Charlotte unprotected. Kyle forces her out, but Meier steps out into the sunlight to save her, burning himself terribly. Charlotte breaks free and runs to save Meier, to the surprise of Borgoff and Kyle (and Leila, who witnesses the bridge from afar); the two of them decide to just let Charlotte die and then kill Meier, since they get paid for her return either dead or alive. But before they do anything, Mashira kills Kyle and cuts out Borgoffs eye; hed gotten away to remove the bombs from underneath the bridge.
The surviving Marcuses and D continue the pursuit of Meier and Charlotte, though now its for personal reasons: Borgoff and Leila want to avenge their fallen brethren, and D wants to prevent the possible conception of another dhampir. Mashira stays behind to stall D, and Meier and Charlotte finally reach the Castle. There they greet Carmilla, and their purpose is revealed: aeons ago vampires used to travel into space in rocket ships, to distant worlds. Meier and Charlotte desire this ship to head to the legendary City of Night and Stars, where they can be together without resistance from anyone.
However, Carmilla has her own plans. She creates an illusion of D and Charlotte to slice Meiers head in half, a mirage of Nolt and Kyle to trick Borgoff into becoming her vampire servant, a hallucination of a newly-orphaned Leila to throw her off track, and a vision of Meier to lure Charlotte to her tomb to feast on her blood. Borgoff attacks Leila and D, but Grove uses up his last strength to use his spirit to destroy Borgoff. D, unfazed by whatever apparitions Carmilla shows him, makes his way into her tomb, where she has drank enough blood to take on a corporeal body. She causes Ds vampire instincts to surface and he is almost overcome, but Meier puts himself back together in time for the two to team up, and eventually Carmillas body is destroyed and her spirit swallowed by Left Hand.
However, it is too late for Charlotte, who was drained of blood beyond recovery. She and Meier have one last moment of love before she passes away. Meier decides to carry on his journey with Charlotte by his side, but D proposes to take her body back to her family. The two fight, but eventually D settles for taking Charlottes ring as proof of her death. Meier and Charlotte leave in the rocket ship, with D and Leila watching. Leila has been inspired by the dream the two lovers had: having lost her family a second time and seeing that vampires can love just as humans can, she decides to start a new life, a life away from hatred and vengeance.
The film ends many decades later, as a family holds a funeral for their beloved matriarch Leila. Her granddaughter sees D watching from a distance, and comes to invite him home (times have changed since, as vampires or at least only D are held in better regard). He declines, saying he only came to keep a pact with an old friend, but says hes glad she was able to make a life and family for herself. He gives the girl a thankful smile, before he rides away...

The film uses motifs explored in the genre and deliberately blurs them. The result is a film that is truly intended to be experienced as a slow, immersive dream.
